Goddess Tara is renowned for three primary forms: Ugra Tara, Neel Saraswati, and Ekajata. The first, ‘Ugra Tara’, is known for her fierce and terrifying aspect. In this form, she stands in the *Pratyalidha* posture (with the left leg forward) atop a burning funeral pyre, upon the corpse-like—or inert—form of Shiva. Embodied with the *Tamo Guna* (the quality of darkness or inertia), Goddess Ugra Tara guides her devotees and helps them find a way out of even the most arduous circumstances.

The second form is ‘Neel Saraswati’; in this manifestation, the Goddess is the knower of all knowledge across the entire universe. She represents the synthesis of all knowledge scattered throughout the cosmos—the supreme wisdom that emerges when all such knowledge is gathered together. In this form, she embodies the *Rajo Guna* (the quality of passion and activity). Possessing supreme wisdom, she is capable of transforming the corpse on the burning pyre into the living form of Shiva.

‘Ekajata’ is the Goddess's third form or name; characterized by her tawny, matted locks (*Pingal Jata*), she embodies the *Sattva Guna* (the quality of purity and light) and grants *Moksha* (liberation) to her devotees. While she stands as Ugra Tara upon the burning pyre, and as Neel Saraswati possesses the power to revive the corpse into Shiva, in her third form—Ekajata—she holds the living Shiva within her matted locks and bestows liberation. After death, she grants her devotees a place alongside Akshobhya Shiva, who resides within her matted hair. In her second form, known as ‘Neel Saraswati,’ the Goddess embodies the knowledge of the entire universe. She represents the collective wisdom formed by gathering all the scattered knowledge found across the cosmos. In this manifestation, the Goddess embodies the *Rajas* quality (the attribute of passion and activity). Possessing supreme wisdom, she is capable—by virtue of her extraordinary knowledge—of transforming the corpse from a burning funeral pyre into the form of Lord Shiva.

Her complexion is blue; a legend explains that during the *Samudra Manthan* (Churning of the Ocean), the deadly *Halahal* poison emerged, threatening to destroy the three worlds. When demons, gods, and sages pleaded with Lord Shiva for protection, the benevolent Shiva consumed the *Kalkut* poison. As the poison took effect, Mahadev began to lose consciousness; he managed to contain the venom in his throat, causing it to turn blue. Upon seeing Lord Shiva fainting, the Goddess entered his body through his nostrils and neutralized the poison with her milk. However, the *Halahal* poison caused her own body to turn blue as well, leading Lord Shiva to address her as ‘Mahanila’ (The Great Blue One). Thus, for the first time since the creation of the universe, the Goddess manifested in a physical form. Among the *Dasa Mahavidyas* (the ten forms of the Goddess), the worship and spiritual practice (*Sadhana*) of Goddess Tara are considered the most complex.

The goddess has three main forms:

1) Ugratara

2) Ekajata and Neel Saraswati

Shri Tara Sadhana for Attaining *Vak Siddhi* (Power of Speech)

Goddess Tara is one of the ten Mahavidyas; she is also known as Neel Saraswati. She represents the Tantric form of Saraswati.

Now, while chanting the following mantra, cut open a pomegranate and offer it as a *bali* (ritual offering) to Lord Ganesha and Akshobha Purusha.

ॐ गं उच्छिस्ट गणेशाय नमः भो भो देव प्रसिद प्रसिद मया दत्तं इयं बलिं गृहान हूँ फट .

om gam ucchhist ganeshay namah bho bho dev prasid prasid maya dattam iyam balim gruhaan hum fat

ॐ भं क्षं फ्रें नमो अक्षोभ्य काल पुरुष सकाय प्रसिद प्रसिद मया दत्तं इयं बलिं गृहान हूँ फट ..

om bham ksham fren namo akshobhya kal purush sakay prasid prasid maya dattam iyam balim gruhaan hum fat ..

Now, chant this mantra for one full round of the mala.

॥क्षं अक्षोभ्य काल पुरुषाय नमः स्वाहा॥
ksham akshobhya kal purushay namah svahaa॥

Then, chant one rosary of the following mantra.

॥ह्रीं गं हस्तिपिशाची लिखे स्वाहा॥

॥hrim gam hastipishaachi likhe svahaa॥

It is mandatory to chant one full rosary (mala) of these mantras both at the beginning and at the end. This is because chanting the *Beej Mantra* of Goddess Neel Tara triggers an explosive surge of immense energy within the body. It creates a sensation of flying through the air; in one moment, you feel as though you are traversing the realms beyond the seven heavens, and the very next, you feel as if you are diving into the depths of a vast ocean. The energy surge is so intense that you may begin to feel weak, as the physical body cannot withstand such power and radiance; therefore, it is essential to chant one rosary of these mantras at both the start and the conclusion of the practice. 3) Neel Saraswati... She is the embodiment of the entire cosmos—the supreme power of the Supreme Lord.

Through spiritual practice (*Sadhana*), when the *Kundalini*—specifically the *Muladhara* and the subsequent chakras—is awakened, one can personally grasp the immense energy-generating potential of this mantra. Each chakra is awakened through powerful, surging bursts of energy; indeed, what is an atomic bomb compared to this *Beej Mantra* of the Goddess?

The Goddess possesses seven principal *Kalas* (manifestations or aspects of divine power) through which she protects the universe, all living beings, and the gods themselves.

These seven *Kalas* are seven distinct powers:

1) Para

2) Paratpara

3) Atita

4) Chitpara

5) Tatpara

6) Tadatita

7) Sarvatita

1) परा

2) परत्परा

3) भूतकाल

4) चित्परा

5) तत्परा

6) भूतकाल

7) पारलौकिकता

By worshipping or meditating upon the Goddess—along with these arts—the devotee effortlessly begins to acquire knowledge of various disciplines; no one across the three worlds can rival the intellectual prowess of a devotee of Goddess Tara. She is known as *Siddha Vidya* because she is capable of bestowing both worldly enjoyment and ultimate liberation simultaneously.

Obtain a consecrated Tara Yantra and a Tara Mala; then, sitting before the Yantra, perform the Japa using the Tara Mala.

After completing the daily chant, do not forget to offer the practice to the Goddess and seek Her forgiveness.
Upon concluding the *Sadhana* (spiritual practice), perform a *Havan* (sacred fire ritual) to the best of your ability and offer a meal to a young girl (*Kumari Kanya*). If it is not feasible to feed a young girl, you may donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to a needy person.
May Bhagavati (the Divine Mother) bless you all.
Chanting Her other mantras becomes beneficial only after completing over one hundred thousand (one lakh) recitations of Her *Beej Mantra* (seed mantra).
Some individuals are unable to express themselves; they lack the ability to speak or have not fully developed the power of speech. Such individuals should...

...install the *Tara Yantra* on a Wednesday! After performing the *Panchopchar Puja* (worship using five offerings), they should chant this mantra for 21 rosary rounds using a *Sphatik* (crystal) rosary.

Siddhi of Neel Saraswati Tara Sadhana
Neel Saraswati is considered a special form of Goddess Tara. She is revered as the Goddess of immense wisdom. We can ourselves grasp the significance and extent of mental power in our lives, as our entire existence arguably rests upon it. At birth, the foundation of our memory is established based on the brain's development; this foundation solidifies over a few years, becoming our memory—which eventually operates within certain limits. It is a divine gift that individuals possess varying degrees of memory power. However, what if we were to fully develop this faculty? The Neel Saraswati form of the Goddess is renowned among spiritual adepts for several attributes, one of which is the enhancement of memory. Practicing the Sadhana of Goddess Tara—and specifically this form—sharpens the seeker's memory; as the practice intensifies, so too does the capacity for recall. In reality, our ability to remember sights, sounds, or tactile sensations stems from our sensory organs. These senses possess a specific potential which, if cultivated, brings great ease and advantage to the seeker's life. Undoubtedly, a robust memory plays a pivotal role in achieving complete success in both material and spiritual realms. Moreover, this specific Sadhana associated with Goddess Neel Saraswati is highly esoteric. By harnessing the vitality of *Parad* (mercury) alongside a special, secret, and potent mantra, the seeker can awaken the consciousness of their ten senses through this practice. The Sadhana may be commenced on any auspicious day, a Tuesday, or the fifth day of the bright fortnight (*Shukla Paksha*), and should be performed at night.

After performing the ritual bath and purification, the practitioner should wear yellow attire, sit on a yellow seat, and face towards the north.

First, after worshipping the Guru and chanting the Guru Mantra, the practitioner should perform the worship of Lord Ganesha and Lord Bhairava.
The practitioner should place a ‘Parad Tara Gutika’ or a ‘Neel Medha Yantra’ in front of themselves and worship the Goddess.

After the worship, the practitioner should perform *Nyasa*.
