How to Perform the Aghor Shiva Mantra Sadhana

The ideal time to complete this Sadhana is during 'Shiva Kalp'; therefore, it is best performed during this period. If that is not possible, it can be started on any Monday during the month of Shravan (Sawan), though performing it during Shiva Kalp or on the occasion of Mahashivratri is considered most auspicious.

This Sadhana should commence after 10 PM. The practitioner should wear black clothing and face the north-east direction. Use a consecrated Rudraksha mala or a black Agate (Hakik) mala.

A Parad (mercury) Shivling is required for this practice, and the Sadhana is performed upon it. If you do not possess a Parad Shivling, you may perform the Sadhana on the Shivling you regularly worship.

Before beginning the main Sadhana, perform a standard Guru Puja and chant four malas of the Guru Mantra. Then, mentally seek permission from Sadgurudev to undertake the Aghoreshwar Shiva Sadhana and pray for its successful completion.

Next, perform a brief Ganesha Puja and chant one mala of any Ganesha mantra. Pray to Lord Ganesha for the obstacle-free completion of the Sadhana and the attainment of Siddhi (spiritual accomplishment).

Since this process involves the practice of Tantric mantras, it is essential to create a protective circle. 1. To do this, hold mustard seeds in your right hand and chant the "Ram" mantra 108 times. 1. Then, slowly take these consecrated mustard seeds in your left hand and, while chanting the mantra given below, scatter them one by one in all ten directions.
